Hello!

I’m Grace Elderkin, founder of Elderkin Interiors. I’ve created interior designs for everything from tiny condos to single family homes, and specialize in urban spaces. I’m as comfortable designing one room as I am an entire floor. I love the challenge of bringing function and personality to tight quarters, but equally enjoy making a large family room both kid-friendly and elegant.

I’m an old-house lover - I recently moved from a 115-year old walk up in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago to a 1917 farmhouse in Downers Grove. Mixing in modern pieces while honoring the history of a home is one of my favorite parts of my work.

After obtaining my Bachelors of Engineering from Northwestern University, I spent ten years as a technology consultant on some of the world’s largest software systems implementations. Eventually it became clear that I needed to pursue my passion for design, and I left the corporate world to open my own design practice.

I love working with clients who expect a luxurious and meticulously organized design process, and I’d be delighted to discuss how we can work together on your home.
